BRIAN LARKIN

It is with much sorrow that the club has lost an active and participating member.
Brian passed away on February 24, 2003. He had been a founding member
of the CWA and a member of Valley Woodturners from the club's inception in 1993.
He was a soft-spoken, knowledgeable person  who seemed willing to pitch in wherever/whenever
he could.  For many years Brian served as convener for our Monthly Show'n'Tell and Monthly
Challenge projects and on several occasions delivered educational presentations during which he
shared many of his techniques. His presence and his conversations will be greatly missed.

We will continue to feature this gallery of his work as a tribute to him.

As a tribute to Brian the club initiated the Brian Larkin Memorial Award to be presented each year to the member who is deemed by peers to have produced the best bowl. The trophy is the collaborative work of Mike Courteau and Norm Younger
and is a thing of beauty.

This competition is held annually in Brian's memory.

The winner is determined by the vote of fellow members
