This application form is for Mentors only. The Student Application Form is here. Once you have filled in the form, your name will be added to our database of people willing to participate in the club mentoring program as mentors. To become a mentor, you must have a skill you perform well, the ability to teach that skill to someone else, and the time to do so.
You must be a member of the Valley Woodturners in good standing (dues paid) to participate in the Mentoring Program.
The club's mentoring program is done on a volunteer basis and there is no remuneration involved. As mentor, you get to decide the best venue for the mentoring sessions. This could be your shop or the student's shop. It is important to remember that if you commit to a time and place for a mentoring session, you must make all possible effort to meet your commitment.
If, at the last minute, you feel that you cannot honour your commitment, please contact the student as soon as possible, as well as the Mentoring Program Coordinator so that a new mentor can be found.
Upon completion of the mentoring session, you will be asked to fill out a confidential evaluation report which the club will use to enhance the Mentoring Program.
